Melanie and Sonny interrupt the argument with their NYE noise makers. Sami talks secretly with Melanie and asks her if Will is angry around her. She says yes, since the breakup.
Sonny, Will and Melanie go to the town square for festivities. Sonny finds his cute gay friend and they go off to shake their bon bon’s on the dance floor. Will gets uncomfortable and leaves Melanie to spend the night alone.
Will spends Christmas Eve with John and Marlena. Bo and Hope accidentally break the plaque dedicated to Alice and Tom and find a key inside. Rafe and Sami spend their “wedding” night together at home. He tells her if it were not for EJ, she never would have betrayed him with Fake Rafe.
Daniel gets Maggie a “mother” Christmas card-as his hands shake (he gets confirmation from Lexi that he is MG free). He asks Lexi what’s wrong with him, and he asks her for Doctor/Patient confidentiality. Daniel tells Lexi about his hand tremors. Daniel asks her to cover for him at the hospital, and he’s going to pull himself out of the surgical rotation.

Melanie tells Daniel that she’s applied for a job at the spa so she can get extra money and hopefully move out. She was going to tell him about the Chad incident but switched it up.

Rafe tells Carrie that John was in the cafe in Paris-but NOT on the date in question. Rafe figures out that the picture is for sure doctored and that John was framed. Carrie is super excited and hugs Rafe-as Sami walks in, then slams the door. She pretends all is good and is extra happy but in a pissy way. She tells Rafe that the church is booked on Christmas eve and they can’t renew their vows. Rafe suggests having their vows renewed in the town square in front of Salem’s happiest couple. I am sure you have all heard by now that Bryan Dattilo is returning to Salem. I am sure because of @Haleyluvslumi’s screams of joy!
According to soapoperadigest.com we can expect to see Lucas by the end of February.
How do you feel about this cast return? I think it fits with Ken Corday’s promise of more Hortons. I do worry that with Lucas back, Jennifer will be more likely to dump Daniel. It is a bit harder to forget that your boyfriend and brother can’t stand each other when they are face to face.
I wonder how many of Sami’s love interests can be onscreen at once? Where is Brandon? We have Austin, Rafe, E.J., and now Lucas too? I have images of Scarlett at Twin Oaks here.
So… what will Lucas’ role be? Who will be his romantic interest? Will we see Lumi again?
