I’d like to see this turn out to be a dream sequence. If not, it really angers me that Sami had her life handed back to her, and the first chance she gets, she lies to Rafe and does about the stupidest things she’s ever done. I’m not happy with the writing on this show. We already have one heroine in prison.

There can’t be a hidden gunman. Sami had the gun in her hand and dumped it in the Salem River!

Remember the scene with EJ getting shot at the wedding. Many people shot a gun, but only one bullet hit him. But like KatieR said, you’d think Sami would have a pretty good shot!

Well, if she took the gun and threw it away, they can’t suspect it being a suicide..so now they will interrogate Nicole, Sami, the Brady clan etc etc…I think it will just be a repeat story line from the shooting in the church. James Scott has said in a previous interview, that when he was written as him getting shot/killed it was because he was leaving the show. Hopefully he isn’t really leaving. I don’t like the Rafe/Sami storyline..in fact, I wish Rafe would just leave. His sisters are leaving..why not take him with them.

I think Will did it…I also think that Will shot EJ the first time and Lucas covered for him..Thats why Will went to live with Carrie and Austin..

i sure hope james scott is not going off the show but it looks bad, looks like he got shot in his right ear. but stranger things have happened on days. but lets PLEASE not lose james scott! hes GREAT to look at!

Isabella actually appeared as an angel a couple of times. First during Marlena’s possession, and she saved Eric Brady from a train wreck on his way out of the show. Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time they ask us to conveniently forget history lol
And I am SHOCKED EJ and Sami didn’t sleep together so we could have ANOTHER “Who’s the Daddy” storyline lol
And why isn’t Victor onto Vivian? When does she EVER do ANYTHING nice for somebody? There’s ALWAYS an ulterior motive with her!

And Sami is NOT going to jail lol Either the Brady PD will cover it up (Which, really, wouldn’t be a problem for me, given the circumstances), they’ll do what they’re going to do with Hope. She’ll go to jail for a little bit, the actress will take a vacation for a little bit (Though it’s hard to imagine Days without Sami even for a little bit), and through some miracle, they’ll be released.

Great Recap. These are difficult episodes with EJ and Sami and even Nicole. But as you said — fantastic and award winning performances by all three!!

Amy – I think Hannah or someone else said that JS had commented that EJ had not had “time” with a woman in 15 months. So I guess it would be since the time that EJ and Nicole broke up.

You are sooo right about the chemistry and hints at a future for Nicole and Daniel. I love Nadia Bjorlin and her portrayal of Chloe — but lets suppose that info comes out that Phil and Chloe are really the bio parents of Chloe’s baby. Then, Chloe and Dan break up. Chloe leaves with Phil ….or Brady.. or just on an opera tour — and it is discovered that Daniel is in fact the bio father – after all. ( You know anything is possible on Days. Has happened and will again.) Maybe Dan and Nicole could raise the baby.

Staci Gleason who protrayed Isabella has appeared a few times to Brady as a Ghost since her death ~1992. She appeared in the 2000′s to Brady on several occasions — did she give hime some sort of butterfly object to remember her by?? Kyle Lowder played Brady back then. Staci Gleason is scheduled to return as the Ghost of Isabella in Oct — I think. So more to come on the Sarcocaphus. reading a lot of folks saying the Sarcocaphus story is really a Brady – centered story and not so much Maggie. Please make this story a good one, Days!! Do not waste any of Louise Sorel’s talent. What a coup for Eric Martsolf to be working more with LS.

EJ isn’t dead. But, was it attempted murder or attempted suicide? With the angle of his head, it is possible we wouldn’t have seen the blood until we saw it from Sami’s point of view.

It infuriated me that Sami had everything she wanted handed to her and she chose to lie to Rafe. Does this woman NEVER learn?

I absolutely HATE this Vivian Alamain story line. Love the Victor/Maggie/Vivian triangle but could they not come up with anything more original? This is so damn boring! I think Vivian is smart enough to come up with something new.

Arianne Zucker may be the most underestimated actress on Days now. She has been great in all of her scenes, I think. So poignant on the Sydney remembrances and her recollection of when she had her miscarriage and the aftermath. I think it is not a coincidence that all of these key events are being brought up. ( But pls do not switch the DNA results such that we find out at Christmas that Nicole is really Syd’ bio Mom. ENough with baby Switches — especially Little Sydney!!)

I have a feeling he’s going to be in a coma & maybe somehow Sami gets away with it for a while, maybe even finds a way to have Nicole framed, not sure, but I really do think it’s stupid that Sami shot him unless she’s is leaving the show for a while. Also, this would be the chance for Chad to come in & be Stefano’s new “EJ”, that’s if Kate even bothers to tell him. I guess we’ll see.

Amy and Jabie also posted a succession of scenes from 2007 — sometime this summer ( June??) They included Andre, EJ, Lucas. This is the sl when Sami runs through or is pushed through French doors at DiMera Mansion — I think.

Interestingly, somewhere in that story – Andre ties up Lucas and EJ. And forces Sami to choose which one she would shoot! Lucas – the man she supposedly loved at the time or EJ – the man she said that she did not love. I think she was newly pregnant with the twins at the time –

Also, Andre had Roman trapped in a cofffin at that time as a hostage. This surprised me — did not remember a lot of others in coffins. Other than Benjy and of course the big Buried Alive Story in the 1990s.

Question: Could George not be a FBI security guy?? Does not really fit the profile of a FBI guy. Remember he was not really hurt from his encounter with EJ. And when Nicole threw a fit in the apt in front of Daniel — and George — she is the one that actually called Rafe.

I wondered at that moment – could Nicole and Sami teamed up in an alliance. I know this is a long shot — plus it could all be a dream, too. But it was interesting that Sami got back to the bed – pulled up the covers and then the phone rang from Nicole.

I know I know..there are a thousand combos of suspects and alliances that could be going on… Would be fun if Rafe has some tie to Stefano or Andre that no one is aware of…

I’m gonna go on a limb and say that maybe E.J. wasn’t shot at all. (there was a gun shot sound at the end of Wed’s epi, but that could have been part of the sequence of voices/sounds going thru Sami’s head).

Perhaps I’ve been watching too much Law & Order, but there was very little blood for someone who’s been shot, and it looked dried. Maybe E.J. either fell down drunk before he passed out, or he smashed himself in the head w/ the gun, etc. Then Sami took the gun away so that he wouldn’t harm himself any more.

When Kate and Stephano find him, in the previews, they say they think he’s dead…but maybe he is unresponsive due to alcohol poisoning vs. gunshot wound. (I think it was either Nicole or Sami who recently said “E.J. drinks but he doesn’t get drunk”. That being the case, he may not have the tollerance for all the booze he dumped into his body. So, they’ll detox him, and he’ll survive).

I do believe E.J survives…he was seen recently with his head shaved. So that may indicate that he has brain surgery on the show. Also I think Victor IS onto Vivian’s plans. I think Vivian will be the one in the coffin.

Since we’re complaining about actors/actresses not showing enough skin, I’m upset that they did put Chloe in a bikini before she started showing(during that commercial break). How do you miss that opportunity writers?

I hope they’re not trying test the waters for Nicole and Daniel, I’m not feeling that at all. I hope they’re just trying to set up another Kiriakis/DiMera feud, which I would love so much, and this time I want an all out war. I want it Godfather style, I want Corleones(aka the Kirikias) wreaking havoc.

One thing that confuses me is that I don’t recall there ever being an indication of Sami ever staying at Rafe’s place, they always stayed at hers yet apparently she had clothes at his to sleep in. And since Sami is apparently the worst shot in Salem I hope she at least remembered to wipe her prints off the gun.

I was so happy when I got home yesterday. For the first time in months the weather wasn’t burning hot. Football season started back up so I got to watch Florida A&M vs the Miami Hurricanes, and I was was waiting to see Days, and when I did it looked like EJ wasn’t even really shot which took the wind out of my sails. There was no pool of blood anywhere so there’s a distinct possibility that he wasn’t shot at all, he might’ve just hit his head on something and has a concussion or something.

Libby, I wonder about George, too. He showed up and Nicole asked, “What happened to that other guy?”

What if we are seeing some kind of grand elaborate Stefano vs. Sami thing going on here. Stefano wants power over his son and Sami is a threat to that. This whole thing could be a set-up to make Sami lose her mind/go to prison… Rafe could be in on it, too. Perhaps he put something funky in Sami’s brandy that messed with her mind. Did she even leave the apartment? Maybe not… And who says things like, “I’m the one who never lies to you?”

EJ had to have been shot by Sami, otherwise why would she leave in a panic to get rid of the gun???? There is no way he is dead though… & since Stefano finds him, what if Stefano takes him to the “secret room” in the mansion and “fixes” him (lol)… all while letting everyone think he is dead…. he would return with the shaved head… & be a “new & improved” EJ DiMera! hmm… just thinking…

& Libby- I completely agree about Arianne Zucker!
I think she is amazing!!! Her acting is always SO good! Even when Nicole is being completely crazy, I find myself rooting for her all the way!! She is probably my favorite actress & character!

Since I’m at work, I’ve only read a few comments, but Bobbi and I are in agreement – attempted murder or suicide? Bobbi and I are on the same page.

As I’ve posted before, I think he was contemplating suicide, but when he passed out the gun only grazed him. Perhaps Sami ran over, grabbed the gun and then envisioned shooting him when she first entered the room, as the gun was in his hand and he was in a lower position than before. When Sami snapped “out of it” she noticed the blood (as brilliantly pointed out by another poster here) as it would have taken a minute or so to run down his face to the extent shown. The fact that her realization of his head injury is shown through he mirror’s perspective, which indicates to me that things aren’t what they seem. Sami panics because the gun is in her hand and he’s bleeding. As per Sami fashion, she runs away in hysterics and tosses the gun.

how bout his for havoc: sami gets nabbed for the shooting and spends the fall storyline with hope in the slammer. throw nicole in there with them and we will have an interesting 13 weeks until xmas. apparently, there are new actors coming aboard to create hassles for hope. with those 3 on the inside and brady, rafe and bo on the outside plotting, maybe they can pull it off? What do you guys think???

Sammi-Sammi-Sammi! Why didn’t you put the gun in EJ’s hand? She sure is a total screw=-up. Then she runs out of the house, and around town with a gun in her hand! Of course the gun will be fou nd . They will dive for it in the most popular place in Salem. Hopefully when Ej survives after brain surgery, he will have memory problems and not even remember Sammi.

She should have put it in EJ’s hand. Granted, a REAL forensics team could probably figure out what really happened, but this is the Salem PD-they couldn’t figure it out if they had a video of it lol

Does it really matter if Sami’s bullet is the one that shot him? The point is she aimed the gun pulled the trigger and left him for dead! Then did the nasty with Rafe right after. She believes she shot him and left him to die and she is covering it up and will enlist people she supposedly loves to help her cover it up. So the way I see it she is still the lying, vendictive, self-serving, hypocritical, heartless, evil Sami she always was the same Sami that tried to will Lucas to die when he was in a coma. Stefano vs Sami – that’s what I wanna see. Also interested to see how she explains this to Johnny and Sydney. Stinks to be Sami.

Ron I want a Kiriakis/DiMera war as well. Something Godfather like too. No holds bar blood bath. Victor is best when he fights dirty. Have Stefano go crazy like he did back in the 80′s when he was having Andre killing everyone.

Sami definitely shot EJ. I think that was clear enough, since the only thing we didn’t see was the bullet entering EJ’s skull. She very obviously picked up the gun, fired, and then freaked out when he started to bleed and convulse. The shot of Sami seeing him bleeding when she looked into the mirror happened only after she got a good look at her handiwork directly. I understand people wanting this to be a dream or for it not to have happened, but at some point you’ve got to give it up…

I hope no one finds out it was Sami for a while. I think it’s much more fun to watch a person’s inner demons eat away at them than it is to watch law enforcement at work. I’m picturing some great scenes with a guilt ridden Sami at EJ’s bedside, unable to confess to EJ or explain to Rafe why she is so concerned and upset. Eventually Rafe’s suspicions will get the best of him, and, like so many times before he’ll go to work to uncover what the secret is. Only this time, Sami will be the one to blame. Rafe will have to come to terms with the fact that the woman he loves not only lied to him again, but is homicidal. He’ll be forced to reveal her secret and destroy her life. I think that would be way more fun than just seeing Sami hauled away for attempted murder a week from now.

I think Nicole is going to find out that Philip is the one Chloe slept with, and then spill the beans to Daniel. He’s being all “knight in shining armor” with her, and you know she can’t resist that. The fact that on top of it, his intentions are completely honorable… She’ll be all over him like white on rice by the end of this month (not that Daniel will necessarily share her feelings).

I have been anti-sarcophagus since the start,but now I might be changing my tune. The fact that Vivian doesn’t just want to bury Maggie alive and let her die in there really scores points with me. It’s about time Maggie falls off the wagon, and if gruel laced with alcohol is the way to do it, I’m on board.

the brother, love your idea. It puts characters in different combos than we’re used to seeing, which always brings out something different in the acting. Also, it forces rivals to have to find a way to work together. Sami/Nikki/Hope and E.J./Brady/Bo… Now that’s what I call havoc!

HarleDoes, the spiked cream-of-wheat does sound kinda good… maybe for Christmas she’ll poke in some rum balls.

The best part of the epi was the inetraction btwn Gus and Viv! Gus’s one liners had me on the floor and Viv trying to sound like Maggie when dictating the letter was priceless.

Totally agree Ari Zucker has hit grand slams in recent days. The universe must not be right when I begin rooting more for Nicole than Sami. Was screaming at the screen “call the paramedics”. Would the judge go easiser on her if she had made the call to get help–it would show some form of remorse wouldn’t it?.

To the brother… 13 weeks of havoc would be good! don’t know if I have in me to ride another emotional rollercaster so soon. Someone mentioned Rafe working for Stefano–don’t think so. The one guarantee we have is that Stefano LOVES EJ, albeit in a crazy way and would never put EJ thru such an emotional upheaval. To teach EJ a lesson Stefano would take away his stock in DiMeara Enterprises or something similar to make him toe the line.

Based on the conversation that Maggie overheard btwn Victor & Stefano, she can now realize the type of person Victor really is and maybe Grandma Caroline will now have a clear shot at Victor and will stop being so mean and nasty.

AliciaE Rum Balls LOL! In West Indian families they are staples during the holidays. Can’t you just see the coffin opened up and Maggie is rescued with chocolate smeared all over her face like a 2year old. That will really match her hair then! Also did Viv forget that she is also a redhead???

Marcia – I disagree about Stefano not putting Ej through such a thing. Stefano is all about revenge and not being bested and he was adament about not having Sami in Ej’s life. Ej put Stefano through hell with the Sydnapping thing, he was cold and cruel to him, tried to kick him out of the mansion, disown him, take his grandkids from him, even tried to kill him. I have a hard time seeing Stefano just letting that go even if Ej is his son. If you recall Ejami went to a Safe house for fear of Stefano. Of course Stefano wouldn’t harm him physically and wouldn’t be responsible for Ej being shot but everything else I could see him having a hand in. I’m not saying Stefano is behind it just that it wouldn’t surprise me or be out of character for Stefano.

Renae..the relationship btwn EJ and Stefano has always been filled with love and revenge. Weren’t Stefano and Sami allies at one point? and if they were what caused it to turn? Maybe I’m confusing the sl with Andre/Tony?

Ok, I’m trying to watch and think about DOOL in
present terms, instead of what awful things these
people did in the past. So, that being said, I
do not think Sami shot EJ, she’s bad, but point blank bad, not.

I’m suspicious about Victor giving the big warning to
Stephano about holding up his shipment, etc. Yes,
I see WAR in the future and maybe EJ’s shooting is part of it.

Hope must be on vacation, I do not miss her at all.

I think the brass should fire a few more people and bring back the character of Lawrence, but
hire someone really handsome and in his 30s. to become a love/hate, power/fight, interest for
Nicole who is clearly the star, but with no life.
She needs a company to run, gorgeous clothes, jewels, and a stud to fight and flirt with. And sorry, but I don’t think Dan or ROman will fill those shoes, lol.

bellakarmen – I agree with you about Sami – she’s not “point blank bad” as you put it. ITA with you about Victor – that scene on the pier had me suspicious as well – maybe Victor is behind EJ’s shooting. Perhaps Rafe is working for him and not Stefano to bring down the DiMeras….

After watching Friday’s show, I am more and more convinced that Days does not have what it takes to do justice to a suicide story – even with the amazing talents of James Scott.

I think that there is a distinct possibility that Days has contracted JJ Abrams to give some consulting time to the writng team for psychological – mind control themes. Sadly, it may be the direction Days may be going to stay on the air. Right now – it is just a hunch and small theory after a little reading this week. Guess we will see next Thursday — if Days is really going in this direction.

Louise Sorel is one of my favorite actresses, but this sarcophagus storyline really frustrates me. No way should Victor not have red flags in mind when it comes to Vivian getting anywhere near coffins of any kind. I’m surprised normally snarky Victor has not already given Vivian dire notice that no one else but Isabella better end up in that tomb. Instead, at least in this area, he seems about as wise to schemes as your average Salem PD officer, as in oblivious to them.

I hope he’s just faking the ignorance like Stefano did when he seemed to know nothing Nicole did until he sprung on her that he knew about the baby switching and fake pregnancy all along.

The Vivian and Gus humorous interactions make the storyline a bit easier to take since I at least get a few laughs, but overall I think it’s too much of a storyline recycle. It made even the brighter citizens of Salem seem to go blind to Vivian playing with coffins again. Someone should ask Vivian “Ok, who do you plan on burying alive this time?” It would shake her up even if the person asking meant it as a darkly humored joke.

Vivian can’t even blame those “damn herbs” this time around. No Dr Woo or his treatments to pin the blame on. Also I would think Vivian would try a few other ways to get rid of or discredit Maggie rather than straight for the buried alive scheme. If I remember correctly, Vivian tried other ways to defeat Carly before taking the big plunge to try to bury her alive. Writers just seem too anxious to repeat history, but this time out of context and proportion in my opinion. I’ll still watch and hope it gets better. As I said, Louise Sorel is one of my favorite actresses and Vivian one of my all time favorite Days characters, but I think they could do so much better with her.

I love Days and Days Talk. I have watched Days on and off knowingly since the mid 70s or so. A habit started even earlier from my maternal Grandmother who raised me and watched Days every day until her passing in 85.

If Maggie is tortured i’ll stop watching the show, c’mon she does the same thing to 2 women, gimme a break. I’d love to see Maggie and Victor butt heads more often. I love the love you love you not going on with them!

Maybe Victor is aware, and viv is the one who is going to take a trip. Maybe Victor will put her in the sarcophicous. Can you imagine the lines Victor would say as he fed Viv thru a straw?

Bev, I agree with you. I can’t imagine something making me stop watching the show but if they torture Maggie, that might do it for me. Abuse of the elderly is over the line! ppl tell me that it will not happen. However, I don’t even like the fact that Vivian is planning it. I like villains, but this storyline is ridiculous. I think Victor knows all and he will come to the rescue. idk

While, I will agree Nicole is one of the best actors on the show. Stefano was great this week also. When he found EJ on the bed, my heart broke for Stefano. Stefano is my favorite villain. I absolutely love his character.

Personally, I think it would have been smart if Sami would have put the gun in EJ’s hand and made it look like a suicide – OR – at the very least she should have wiped her prints off of the gun. I’m not into criminal investigations, but I would think there is a chance that the oil fingerprints would remain on the gun even in the water… I don’t know.

Overall, my theory is: Sami wouldn’t have done all of these “smart” things because she didn’t plan the shooting. It was a true crime of passion. Her only plan was to prevent EJ from taking her children away from her. Kate said she overheard his plan to take the children away and that she better do something about it. It must be true, Why? Because Kate would never have told Sami something so serious, Kate is never on Sami’s side because she can’t stand Sami. But, she does love Sami’s kids. When Sami went to the DiMera mansion to confront EJ, she was ready for the biggest fight of her life. She was ready to fight for her children. EJ told Sami he had planned to take her children away from her permanently during the kidnapping. She saw EJ lying there in the bed and all of these thoughts were rushing through her head, she was an emotional wreck.

She knew of his past plot to take Johnny and Sydney away on a trip and she knew he would go through with it this time. What if it was worse this time? Sami wondered why EJ had a gun? Why was he going to use it? Was he going to take the children by gunpoint? Was he going to shoot her when he took the children? Would the children be in the middle of a police shootout with EJ? That day, he told her that his plot for the kidnapping was to make her suffer and he had planned on taking the children so she would be all alone. Sami may have wondered if EJ was going to get revenge on her again and kill her children? She does see EJ as a monster. Yes, he told her that he changed but she is in no position to believe that he has changed for the better.

Rafe said he wanted some excitement in his life. He better hold on. He has no idea what he is getting into. If Sami is able to keep this a secret from everyone, it is possible that Rafe, in time, will figure out that Sami is the shooter. My theory is: This secret will be too much for their relationship and will be the breaking point in their relationship.

As far as the Kiriakis/DiMera war rekindled… Victor told Kate and Stefano that he already retaliated for the shipping problem. Victor told Stefano that he knew that Elivis was left at the alter and was left crying in his champagne. (Victor was behind it because he helped Rafe trap Nicole.) Now that EJ has a bullet in his head, Stefano may blame Victor. He will go after Nicole and Victor. Gotta’ love the drama!
