Other than that, the big Ejami wedding fight was so powerfully acted I feel a bit worn out emotionally. So, enough on that.

Im happy to see EJs world crushed and torn apart,and its about bloody time,,, I want him to know how it feels to be sooooooo hurt by Sami and then maybe he can go on with his life and stay away from her and her family.
EJ who is blaming Nicole for all this,when he should be blaming Sami, and all that screaming is not helping.
and just look at all the grief and misery he has put everyone through. He is not a happy man now or ever will be.

I would be really happy about EJ getting shot in the head except well I have this awful feeling that this is how the writers are going to try to redeem him. He will have a personality change. Well either that or this is how they will make him SUPER EVIL ELVIS. I am thinking we have seen the last of gray EJ either way. Maybe they dig for the bullet and find a chip in his head and he can say, see I wasn’t born mean, I was just chipped that way.

As for Nicole moving in w/ Chloe, I’m sure that friendship will eventually end bc Nicole will probably end up sleeping w/ Daniel (they are both sex addicts) and ruin Chloe’s shot at happiness w/ Daniel. The again, the baby is Philip’s so how happy can Chloe be w/ Daniel anyway?

Jabie loved the stock analogy LOL. I agree Safe is in need of a bailout. Like many others, I’m just so disgusted that they can jump into bed so quick. Safe just seems to be all about sex. I was surprised how Sami was sitting there bawling and Rafe just sat there stone cold! I feel no love between these characters and no chemistry. Such a huge contrast from the love, respect, gentleness, concern, and care we saw from Ej the past few months. Can I just say JS is rockin all his scenes!

I can’t watch this video b/c I’m at work, but I can say one thing: EJAMI forever.

Amy and Jabie, let me tell you this. I was probably the only guy at this year’s Daytime Emmys that A) wasn’t dragged by his wife and B) was cheering like I was at a football game. Of course, those ladies surrounding me screamed so much louder than I ever could have, but it was so funny to see the demographic there.

I started watching DAYS back in 2000 and my 1st storyline was that of the Last Blast with Philip, Chloe, Shawn, Belle, Mimi, Jason & Jan. The storyline simply got me hooked and then imagine a ten year old boy watching Chloe/Nadia Bjorlin reveal her sexiness at the prom, oh yeah, I was definitely hooked.

Part of the reason I watch DAYS is to continue carrying the torch for my Grandmother who passed away just a few weeks before I started to watch the show and who was a HUGE DAYS fan and would watch it when I was little and who would have to change the channel to “Columbo” re-runs every time my Grandpa or parents would walk in so they wouldn’t see that we were watching DAYS. Of course, my family knows now.

But, there are so many factors to why I watch DAYS and why I always defend Chloe. I do get some teasing from some people but they’re just doing that, teasing. It’s all in good fun. DAYS has simply become a part of me. Thanks for the shout out, Amy and Jabie! Oh and shout out to all the men who watch DAYS!

My 10 year old son likes to watch with me sometimes, too. Thanks to hulu, I can scan ahead to make sure it’s “o.k.” The other day we we’re watching the interrupted wedding… the part were Rafe is fixin’ to spill the beans and Sami slaps him. My son shouted out, “Slap him again so he can’t talk!” Maybe someday he’ll be hollering at the Emmy’s, too.

We all appreciate Jabie and Amy so much. There is simply no excuse for someone like Cher to come online and attack the very folks that make this community possible. Love and respect you very much, Amy and Jabie!!

Today, Tuesday was an absolutly awesome epi. James Scott was fabulous! He definitely deserves an Emmy!

I am new to post on this site, but am not new to days. I too started watching with my grandmother, as early as i can remember at 2 or 3 years old. My grandmother is also passed on and i carry on the family tradition. I was horrified when I heard talk of them taking days off the air. I know their story lines get dull sometimes, but it would be a shame if they stopped the show, I remember as far back as when Bo and Hope were teenagers and first fell in love and Patch and Kayla and when Jack raped Jen, I could go on and on. I just love the show and it would be a horrible shame to lose it.

I too watch with my husband, he was kicking and fighting at first but now he is like “hey days is on turn it hurry” and I have to tell him “it’s saturday hunny it doesn’t play today” lol he loves it too now.

As far as anyone who doesn’t like Amy and Jabie, well you aren’t held at gunpoint to watch them. It is completely your choice, and like someone else said “if you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all”

Well I enjoy this site and will continue to check in now and again. Don’t always have time to read or write so maybe i will again soon.

Libby, I have to say I am always slightly jealous when I hear ppl talking about watching Days with their mother/grandmother/etc. The last soap my mother watched was “Ryan’s Hope”. I actually started b/c I watched it with my babysitter’s daughter, who was abt 10 yrs older than me. A 16yr-old and a 6 yr-old watching Vivian bury Carly alive, lol. But I have to say I do feel cheated b/c I don’t have these family memories of watching DOOL.

I’m a third generation DOOL fan. While my grandmother abandoned the show during the Marlena possession, my mom and I are avid fans. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are faithful fans, too – we conference about DOOL daily. LOVE IT!

I must say I’m really liking Days right now. Somehow EJ’s misery makes me happy. The more depressed he is, the bigger the smile is on my face. As much as it pains me to say this, Ari fraternizing the enemy is seriously dropping her wife stock in my book, which is kind of weird because Ari could literally commit pretty much any crime(as long as the crime doesn’t affect Melanie or Carly) and I’d still love her.

Hannah, my mom quit for the same reason as your Grandmother. She had a hard enough time with Marlena’s twins being kidnapped, but demon possession took the cake for her. For me, Stefano is almost like a Grandpa, having grown up with him. Rather a bad Grandpa, but still… You are so lucky to have family that loves to talk DOOL. As for me, that’s what DaysTalk is for, and I’m grateful. Thanks, fellow fans!

I love that Arianna is taking EJ’s side in this. The thing I’ve really liked about her character from the start is her ability to think for herself, and not just take on the opinions of everybody else. She told EJ that he was wrong to do what he did, but isn’t too blind to see that there are two sides to the story (like Rafe is). I’ll be sad to see her go! We need more strong, independent women on Days!

On that note, Sami is looking a little pathetic right now. I’m normally a big Sami fan, but to jump into bed with Rafe the SAME DAY that all that goes down with EJ… Come on! I would think that as a mother she would want to be spending this time near her children, especially considering that this must be a big shock for them too. More and more I’m thinking neither Sami nor EJ should have custody of these kids. Give them to Nicole. She’s crazy, but she’ll put her kids first 100% of the time.

HarleDoes, loved what you had to say about Arianna. I’d also like to add that she has legitimate concerns about Sami as a romantic choice for her brother. Yeah, it’s his decision, but a sister can worry!

Cher, you’re gross. Why is Sami, who is so afraid for her kids, at Rafe’s?! As a mother, I’m surprised AS let them get away with that writing! They could have at least been in a different room at the pub.

I think I have admitted before – stopped watching Days during the Marlena possession. But My Grandmother rode the tide right through…and we discussed it and analyzed — and wondered why it was such an extremely popular sl. These were days before I knew who the head writers were — as I think some of us have discussed before — no a fan of the late James Reilly’s work.

Hate to admit – I did not watch today’s epi on DVR or Soapnet. Just could not take it. Will be watching for the rest of the week. Have to see how things fall out in comparison to the leaked epis and spoilers. I do so hope some of this is a dream or coma induced. So sad for me as an EJ and Sami fan.

Also, I saw a picture on another board this evening with EJ hooked to life support – even probes attached to his head to check for brain activity. It almosts makes me sick — My Mother who loved Days and LOVED EJ was hooked up to ventilator and equipment before she passed last June. I hope that these scenes pass quickly – and he is awake and conscious very quickly. To be honest, this story has gotten too dark for me to enjoy – I am really trying to endure it until it gets to a point that I can feel good about…

I quit watching Days. Thought it was much better acting when E.J. was “changed” and with Sami. So boring now and Rafe is just another actor in bed with someone. I’ve got better things to do than watch Rafe and Sami. Maggie is someone to watch and so is Nathan. Maybe the powers that be can think of a way to get them more into the thick of things. Also, sad to see Dr. Baker go. He was really an interesting character.

LUCASsami, now that’s true love between EJ and Sami, right? LOL. I’m rooting for these two now, but of course, I still hold Lumi close to me.

Aw, Ron. When I read your post about Ari going down in your wife list, the song, “Another One Bites the Dust” started playing along in my head….too bad. Luckily I don’t think you’ll have to worry abt her hurting Mel or Carly. I don’t see her going after Philip, Daniel, or Bo anytime soon, and I don’t think she’ll be teaming up with Viv to go against them either EJ on the other hand…I think he’ll be an integral part of her remaining time on the show. To what extent however, I’m not sure. (Although I like them together, so if they get one off before she’s gone I’d be happy).

Wow, I have to say, it’s pretty obvious with the # of posts that DOOL is getting a lot more interesting. I remember for a while there we were lucky to get 20 posts after 1 of these vids! That was during the extra-slow months….glad to see it. I hope this translates over into an increase in ratings.

And even though DOOL is down in the ratings, I swear it’s much more widely known than a lot of other soaps. Y&R of course is up there, and I’d say AMC too, but usually I feel like when ppl think of a soap opera, they think DOOL. It’s just an integral part of the American experience, imho. Maybe I just watch too many NBC shows or something, but it always seems like if primetime shows make a reference to a soap it’s DOOL.

Libby Sorry to hear about your mom. Sometimes some stories hit too close to home and its okay if you take a break.

I think the Marlena possession story was poplur because of younger kids. I thought it was a crazy story and I liked it. There are some stories that are too crazy even for me ie the germi twins.

I think most people started watching Days because of grandma and family members. I started because of my aunt and sister. My sister stop watching around the time Kristen left but she still asks me about it.

I love this place because we can share idea and talk about stories. That and Amy and Jabie are fun to watch. Even when Jabie bad mouths Ejami stock.

Alicia E. – When Sami said “I have this voice in my head that says I’m not ok” I thought that was strange, Ej is not a threat to her he just told her would never hurt her and that despite wanting to take the kids from her he couldn’t go through with it. Rafe is with her, her kids are surrounded by 3 cops according to Rafe.
Maybe that voice that she thinks is referring to Ej is really referring to Rafe. She is about to get engaged to a man whose last fiance ended up dead and he refused to tell her anything about it and walked out on her for asking. I may be reading more into it then is there but I just found the whole dialog interchange between Safe very suspicious, the reference to sleeping pills, everything.

Today’s show was so-so, IMO. Sami & Rafe happened too fast I think, and the Sami crying in bed scene was weird.
Also, Arianna trying to rescue E.J….I just don’t get that. It’s not like he even got her off for being accused of the muggings, she just got lucky when Hope confessed.
Lexi was very kind as she always is (oh, except when she’s cheating on Abe, I guess, but that’s ancient history now). Previews were interesting w/ E.J. holding the gun to his head.

Renae, oh, I totally agree there’s something stenchy in Denmark. First thing I thought of with the “I’m not o.k.” line from Sami was that SHE’s not o.k. in her own head. Then she said a couple of more criptic things and looked right at Rafe. Also, it just felt strange (Ejami fan or no) that Rafe wasn’t hesitant to get Sami into bed with the state of mind she was in… Very weird. I can’t decide if there’s really something there… or if the writer’s are messing with us… all around surreal mood to most of Tuesday’s show.

Karen M. – I agree tomorrow will be pivotal! I have the feeling we will be wading through many red herrings in the next few weeks. I completely agree about – Arianna. They annopunced her departure from Salem on July 22. Why continue to use her unless she is a key part of the mystery or crime or “situation” with EJ/Sami and Rafe.

Read recently that LH had a final filming on Days last Friday — and a going away party with some of the cast. I thought I had read that LH had completed filming upon her announcement on July 22. They were giving her 6 weeks notice. Maybe, they had an addl scene that will fit into the next few weeks. I cannot see Days using her character all the way into late Oct. I do wish LH the best. She was very nice to meet in person. It is a shame that her character was never well – written with a solid plan.

I have been puzzled for months with all of the casting for these prison wardens and guards. I really do not believe that Hope is really going to be portrayed as an inmate. ( More soon – working on a post with some of my own speculation and theories. ) Maybe, Sami will be sent away rightly or wrongly if she is charged with a shooting. Maybe she will be taking the blame for someone else.

In a way, speculation from months ago – seem to be coming to mind now. Like what if Alison Sweeney was going to recurring status. It would make filming schedule much easier if she was working with a small core of players for at least awhile.

Have read over and over that things are exactly as they may be seen. Trying to figure out right now – if someone else could have been in the room at the same time as Sami?? Sounds like NBC Preview tomorrow will reveal someone who sees Sami at the mansion and may know what happened.

Days is pulling out all the stops. That’s for sure. And they need to do it quickly to extend contract or obtain new one. I am hearing and reading that Days is going HD in audio and video sometime before the end of the year. That is encouraging. Someone is thinking it is worth the long term commitment. Has anyone else been reading about this? and can share with Daystalk Community??

Note: Days will have a special 45 th anniversary event at the American Television Arts and Sciences in LA on Sept 28. It will have full panels to provide discussion of the show from the very beginning and into what is planned for the future. Right now – looks like it is open only to ATAS members. This type of event has been held for a lot of monumental shows like Frasier, Golden Girls, law and Order. It may be an oppty for announcements for HD and potential other positive developments. Fingers crossed.

The FBI froze Nic’s accounts at teh behest of the upstanding Rafe. The SAFE scenes made me sick,sick,sick! I have a 40+year history witht his soap and Sami is my favorite character and for the 1st time used the fast forward. I do not watch DOOL to be REPULSED. How much of SAFE do we have to endure?? You are not alone. I think AS and JS are ng award winning performances – but I agree not liking the sl. When I skipped the show on Tuesday – had not done that in a very very long time. You can only take what you can and ff or skip the rest — I think there are a lot of wanting to scream or pull our hair at this point. Just hang in with us. Best we can —

Libby, AliciaE, Marcia, and others: I just cannot bring myself to finish watching today’s show. I’m half way through – is it worth it to watch? It is very difficult for me to watch EJ (although JS’ acting is phenomenal!) I’m sure I’ll watch, it’s just hard.

And I completely ff’d through the SAFE sex scenes. It was hard to watch from a digestive sense. Something DOES NOT feel right about Rafe’s character – I still think he’s shady. AND I hated the fact that he’s encouraging Sami to get full custody of the children? Really? As a whole EJ has proven himself to be a good father (and Sami even told him that). EJAMI both took turns being bad parents when they “stole” Sydney from one another. Again, Rafe is shady.

Hannah, Libby and all….Was it just me or did Rafe (yuk) seem awfully eager to bed Sami when she wanted to pause for a moment? I think she said “stop what am I doing?” and he was like don’t stop now. So much for honor. I believe Sami will find out Rafe is much worse than EJ and what will she do then. Sami ever hear of wolf in sheeps clothing? open your eyes girl!!!

There’s more sex from SAFE…maybe will stay at teh office and work on the corporate tax returns which is preferable to watching Rafe stick his tongue down Sami’s throat. Does he look uncomfortable or what?

I have never had much interest in Rafe as a character. He definitely looks like he has gone obsessive to say the least. It does not look like the writers are painting Rafe or Sami with an attractive brush. Dont think it is an accident.

Hannah – try to make it through the epi – if you can lots of clues for what may lay ahead – I think. I am all for ff Rafe and Sami when I can, too.

Marcia – I agree that SAFE looks uncomfortable – AS and GG are really good friends in real life. I am wondering if that plays a part in the awkwardness we get from these scenes. It’s painful to watch them beyond the chemistry aspect, though. I am so angry at Sami for deciding to jump right in the sack with Rafe and I’m angry at Rafe for pushing her into it. While I understand that Sami is angry and does feel threatened (although she knows in her heart EJ would never hurt her), she does love EJ and she almost got married. So, I’ve lost some respect for Sami in her recent decision.

I agee that there is defintely an awkwardness with any love scenes between Rafe and Sami. Who knows the reason? I usually captivated when EJ and Sami are alone together. The chemistry and trust of the actors is off the chart with AS and JS.

Something has always been missing for me with GG and AS. But I am not a fan of them as a duo – anyway. Would like to think the wrtiers ( Cuillitons ) are writing Sami and Rafe time to be unattractive and distasteful. Not sure if that is true – but the result in my opinion is not good whenever Sami and Rafe are together.

I have enjoyed reading all the posts. I just wonder how the writers are going to get EJ and Sami back together. I feel that DOOL hangs on Ejami. Hope the writers are just working on a way to get them together with a larger fan base.

Karen M, the point is he tried to get her off. Unlike her dumba** brother who instead of trying to help his own family, kept trying to bring EJ down. I’m sorry, but that annoyed me. Plus EJ was one of the victims of the muggings. So the fact that he was willing to be her lawyer and fight her case meant a lot to Ari I’m sure. Plus you have the fact that EJ and Ari agree that Nicole’s always up to no good, helps a lot.

Libby, I believe Lindsay will be airing into late October. From everything I’ve read and heard, she was given her 6-week notice right around the time it was announced to everyone, in late July. July 21st I believe. I do think she’ll be a pivotal piece in the storyline coming up in the next 6 months at least.

I think E.J. defended Ari to get into Sami’s good graces, but I guess it really doesn’t matter at this point.

I’ll try to choose my words carefully, because I really don’t want to hurt or upset anyone (like anybody cares what I think, lol!).
So here goes…..I notice that some people get a little upset w/ each other on this site. We enjoy reading each others’ thoughts and having “discussions” about them. I’m just thinkin maybe we can all try to post our thoughts as opinion vs. posting our comments in a know-it-all fashion.
This is not directed at anyone in particular, I’ve just noticed people aren’t as pleasant to each other lately (maybe it’s because there’s so much going on w/ DOOL, which is a good thing).
I will take blame as well if I was ever self-righteous, rude, whatever.

Although I do admit, it bothers me when ppl talk negatively about Lindsay/Arianna. Mostly b/c I don’t feel she’s been given a fair shake by some who are so opposed to Safe and Passions that they disliked her from the start. Add that to the fact that she’ll be gone soon and it does get under my skin when ppl make outlandishly negative comments. I know I’ve snapped at a few ppl lately on that subject. It’s just hard for me to not stick up for her b/c she’s one of my all-time fave soap actresses playing my current under-35 fave character on DOOL, not to mention the reason I’m back watching this show in the first place.

KatieR, I wasn’t directing anything at you. I’ve just grown tired of the negativity. The comments directed at Amy yesterday just really bothered me.

Karen M, most of the time I’m so excited (especially lately, cause your right, the story is INTENSE right now) that I don’t stop to say, IMO – in my opinion. Well, actually, I rarely do that as it is because I just figure it’s a given that if I’m saying it… it’s my opinion. It’s not like I write for the show or something. So, if I’ve come across as a know-it-all (?) please be aware that I most certainly DON’T think I know it all. I’m mainly just rather yappy. Thanks for sharing your feelings. Of course people care, Woman! (just wanted to call somebody “Woman” like Stefano did to Kate yesterday.) Your call for a positive atmosphere is fantastic, IMO, but on the flip side of the coin, let’s also take each other with a grain of salt.

If you fight it, you’ll just end up in the belly of a whale anyway, so don’t fret.

Dolly, I too, have been wondering how they’ll redirect EJAMI back together. That is why I believe that someone is dreaming and that things are not happening as they seem. Here’s hoping!
