At first, I totally agreed with Jabie about “nobody would change the test results TO negative.” However, Nathan could change the results to negative if he wanted to break up Phil and Mel. Then somebody could have gone behind him and changed it to positive. So we don’t know who the baby-Daddy is!!!
Spoiler? Did you say Doc Baker is leaving? I’m so upset. He is one of my favorite characters. He’s so goofy and funny.

No, Nathan wouldn’t have changed anything to break Phillip and Melanie up because Nathan does NOT know the man Chloe slept with is Phillip. He just knows that she cheated.

I want to know how so many people found out that Chloe had the paternity test since it was suppose to be under a different name to cover it up.

BUT then….we don’t know what everyone was doing on their computer anyway. They all had legitimate reasons for being on the computer anyways.

The only people who know the name that Chloe used was Chloe and Carly.
How did Steph know what name to locate to find and change the results? Did I miss something?

Steph knew the name cause she was hiding in the closet when Chloe & Phil were talking about it so Phil knew the name she used also

I think Nathan changed the results. He doesn’t want Melanie to be crushed, so he most likely did it. OR I’m thinking Daniel.

Come on people, stop and think about this. Who is the only person that knew that Chloe was going to St. Maryy’s to get the test? Duh, Carly!!!!

We know Stephanie tried to do it, but it was already changed. So that leaves Phillip and Carly. ONE of them changed the results. And I really think it was Carly. With the way she was acting at Daniels and said that she was happy he was going to get a chance to raise this baby and that it wasn’t her fault this time. And that she had to make a deceision about a patient all on her own and that if she went one way the patient would be disease free but her life would be changed completely or the other way that made everyone happy but still had a little disease…. of course she’s talking about Chloe!

I believe it was Daniel. He sent something on his cell phone which believe was some techy he knew who could hack into the other hosp. computer. He knew the fake name since Carly told him that he had the wrong room, he knew Carly was acting crazy, he knew Chloe’s voice when she was crying through that curtain, he was on to them but he played along with them til he could figure out what they were up to. He knew they had been behaving oddly.. Chloe weddings’ on, no off, back and forth back and forth and Carly always there to the rescue.. yeah who wouldn’t figure out that those two were up to something. Daniel is Ricky Ricardo, Lucy is Chloe, and Ethel is Carly.. they can’t hide nothing from Ricky cuz they are two ditzy women.. who look like they swallowed a canary every time they tell a lie. I would guess that Daniel figured it out because also Phillip has been acting all jittery and crazy too. So he took it upon himself to change that he’s the father so that he can raise his own baby.. unlike not getting to raise Melanie. He knows that Chloe’s pregnancy will be a one time shot for her.. so he chose to something.. and we all heard him say that he would do anything for Chloe while they laid basking in the afterglow of making love! Then he got up.. sent the txt message to someone and then later on the docks we see him approving what he did. It’s all cut and dry. The others were thrown in to make us wonder. Now what I wanna know is had someone already hacked before Stephanie saw that it was NEGATIVE with her friend the first time? Maybe it had been switched already. Then whoever hacked in again changed it to positive.

nathan would be the only one who would benefit from making the results be philip… but how would he have known that she was having paternity testing… and i don’t believe that he knows that that philip is the other man… or that might just seal the deal for him to try to get mel back anyway!!!
i do think that it is carly that switched the results…. she is protecting both mel and dan!!! that is the biggest motive…

Yes in DOOL land, Daniel really could be the father. I totally hope not, but it’s possible. I’d still say 50/50.

Amy I kept my mouth shut on the Dr. Baker and Abby contracts. Everytime I see one they just seem so spoilerish! Mostly b/c DOOL is having a big cast changeover it seems.

I mean, if they were just resigning people, no spoilers there.

Ok did I miss something? Who’s DNA was used for the paternity test…Daniel or Phillip’s??

Alright Jabie, this comes from no actual working knowledge, but…. I doubt the paternity test has the DNA donors name on it, it just says “sample one” or whatever. And if Daniel/Melanie/phillip etc etc do not know they may just assume incorrectly and the results may have been flipped back and forth like 5 times.

My theory for James Scott’s shaved head…. somehow they find out he has a brain tumor that made him do this and he had to have surgery to get it removed.

I think it was Philip that changed the results, because he was on the phone with someone and sounded urgent to get something changed, like he was calling in a favor and everyone knows Philip has connections. Also I don’t think Carly would change it, she has been to hard on Chloe to get this far with the truth to just change on a whim because she suddenly saw the good in lying to Daniel, not that there is any good in it truthfully but I still say Philip did have it changed and I also don’t think Melanie knew anything about the paternity test.

People, I still suspect Victor. We all know Chloe is among the “Victor’s Most Hated Women list” along with Sami, Nicole, Carly, Adrienne, Vivian & Carly. He probably found out about Chloe’s one night stand and is setting a plan in motion to “reveal her as a slut” which she isn’t. Remember back when Victor accused Chloe of turning Brady to drugs and set Chloe up to make it look like Brady disappeared and DEAD when Victor transferred him over to rehab? People, IT HAS TO BE VICTOR!!!

I believe Amy D you are on to something. Young and the Restless did a similar storyline with Jana if I am not mistaken.

Yes, Y&R did do that with Jana and if memory serves me correctly, they did not remove the entire tumor. Which hopefully explains what the heck happened with her and Ryder!

Anyways, back to DAYS, if anyone deserves redemption, it’s Chloe so we can have to old Chloe back. And I mean this in the best sense possible, I hope Chloe has a tumor!

Hold on, let me explain what I mean. If Chloe has a tumor, that would give the new DAYS fans a chance to feel for her and cheer for her. Now, maybe I don’t want her to get a tumor, but Please give Chloe some sort of redemption, writers!

I think Carly, Philip’s friend and Stef friend all did a switch. We ALL know the baby will be a boy. There will be some time of illness with the baby and it will need blood, that’s when they find out the baby is Philip child!

The train wrecked wedding has me feeling like I have a loose tooth that needs pulled, and my big brother’s got a string tied to my tooth on one end and the door knob on the other. One moment I’m like, “O.K. do it,” and the next I’m like, “Wait! Wait! Wait!”

Karen M, lol on the sparkling cider. Yes, it’s nasty… Also, I actually worked with someone once who had a brain tumor. She’d been acting very oddly for some time. Luckily, they figured it out and she had the tumor removed and fully recovered!

One of the reasons I think there’s a chance Daniel is really the father is because, despite Sister Anne’s insistence that the hiring practices at St. Mary’s are very strict, they do still employ Nurse Josie, who can’t do anything right (remind me to go there next time I’m sick!). What if Josie were the one who put the results in the computer initially, and she got it wrong? They’ve sure gone out of their way to show that this nurse is incompetent in everything she does! I do think it’s possible the test was switched multiple times, and I think Ian went in and switched the results when Steph was off having her meltdown. He clearly has a thing for her, and owes her for some huge favor. And in doing it when she wasn’t there, he also can lie and have an alibi. Meanwhile, Carly and Phil are looking pretty guilty too.

Speaking of Ian (per Sue B’s comment), am I the only one who finds it odd/weak that they keep referring to this big favor she did for him in college? Seriously, what could it be? They could have done a better job convincing us that he would be compelled to help her.
I mean, what better favor could someone have done when they were in college than when Max disposed of Ford Decker’s body for Stephanie and Chelsea?

there are several people that i think DID NOT switch the results, just because it’s not believeable enough… like Melanie, Chloe, etc. I mean can an average person log on to a hospital’s website on their personal laptop and access/tamper with test results… NO! not believeable enough… I really don’t see it being Daniel or Nathan either just because i couldn’t see either of them going to that trouble to make the results positive… & sure they have a inside connection to the hospital, but it doesn’t make much sense to me… i don’t know… & they already established that Stephanie/Ian did not make any changes at all to the results… so, in my mind these names are pretty much ruled out. BUT who really knows in Salem!!! haha! I am excited to see this play out & read more theories…

Pretty sure Carly was the one to change it. I think she realized the hurt and pain it would cause Daniel and Chloe and she wanted them to have the happiness of being together and having a child but even more importantly I think she realized that if it came out Daniel wasn’t the father it would also come out that Carly knew about the affair and she could lose Daniel and Melanie. She is not going to risk that.

If not her than Phillip. No one else had the knowledge of it or know how to do it but Stephanie and we know she failed.

I’m hoping Daniel is the father. Mostly, cause they are making it look like he isn’t. And if Phillip changed it that is just wrong considering his vow to Melanie AND to Chloe that he would do the right thing whenever he had another child. I’m thinking Carly, but that might be too easy.

I think it explains the shaved head. *****spoiler***** I hear EJ is shot by another who-done-it type of incident (I mean seriously how many times will EJ be shot by a mystery assailant, I still think the last one was Will) but anyhow, they will send him through the MRI after pulling out the bullets to see if there are anymore, and they will discover the tumor.

P.S. but the twist could be that the tumor was the thing that was making him Nice EJ and when they remove he goes back to evil EJ…. They had that on Grays Anatomy or Private Practice, one of the two.

lol, Karen and Alicia, I quite like Sparkling Cider. But then again I’m not one who much likes the taste of alcohol. I drink it socially, but I find it horrible to down. Not that I drink Sparkling Cider a lot, usually just New Year’s Eve. I’ll have 1 glass of champagne to toast and then switch to sparkling cider w/the nondrinkers (usually only those under 21 and my grandmother). And yes most of my family thinks I’m crazy, since I don’t like alcohol, lol. Not that they’re alcoholics or anything (they’re not) they’re just like most people who like to have a few drinks when they get together. I ask for pop and my aunt/cousins/parents are very quick to give me a ‘look’.

KatieR, that’s cute about your family giving you the ‘look’. I get that look for not wanting cake at the birthday parties. I can’t stand the taste of anything sweet, which is why I don’t go for the Sparkling Cider. It’s not like I require all of my beverages to contain alcohol. lol
Speaking of alcohol, Brady doesn’t look so good in that clip for Wednesday’s show, does he? I think his cute drunk status is starting to wear off a bit.

It’s not even an alcohol thing, my favorite drink is ice water. Alicia E, I have finally found someone else who does not like cake, pie, candy, cookies, etc. My sis is the complete opposite (but she’s skinny as a rail, doh!)…

Nathan could have changed the results but I really
do not think that he did. Nathan is a fledgling resident doctor and he would get his a$$ kicked out
of the hospital so fast it would make him grow hair on his chest!!! My husband says Nathan would be kicked out of the medical profession and would have to get a job at Wal-Mart to make ends meet. LOL!!
Medical ethics should rule of Daniel, Carly and Nathan.
That leaves Phillip, Chloe, Melanie. I think it was
Phillip because he learned from his father that money can buy anything and anyone. He’s just
saving everyone.

.. surely Phillip wouldn’t have changed the results since what happen to him thinking he was raising his own child before and turned out it was Shawn’s.. Nathan doesn’t know who Chloe was unfaithful with can’t be him. Daniel loves Chloe alot but would he allow his daughter to be betrayed like that I think not. Carly was deadset on doing the right thing but with the Hope thing she may have rethought that and possibly changed the results for the greater good in her mind. Very good logic with the incompetent nurse also Ian changing it while Steph was out of the room and then claiming he knew nothing to keep her from dealing with the guilt later when it comes out. JMO

I think it was either Carly or Daniel. I am going with Daniel. And I think it happened this way: he typed in the name of the patient he saw to check on her because he thought about how odd it all was and he recognized her perfume. It was Daniel’s DNA they tested. So he changed the results because he said the important thing was for Chloe to be happy.

I still don’t think it makes any sense for it to be Daniel. We know now what he was sneaking around about (the opera tickets), and we also know how he feels about lies. If he knew, I don’t think he would just play stupid and then switch the results. He would either kick Chloe to the curb, or he’d confess to her that he knows and tell her he loves her anyway and still wants to be a family.

If Ian had changed the results, he wouldn’t have sounded so shocked and appalled when Stephanie suggest he do just that. If he did it because he wanted to help her, and he wanted her to find out without knowing he did it, he would have just been like “That sounds risky but if you insist….Oh look, someone already did it for me!” Why the argument? Just seems stupid. Also, I think Ian would want credit.

I don’t think Carly has it in her. After what she did to Daniel and Melanie, I don’t think she could stomach the thought of misleading Daniel into raising someone else’s child. I think they’re making her say all those things and look suspicious to throw us off the trail. Later we’re going to find out she was just feeling guilty about having done this much and lied to so many people to conceal Chloe’s secret. And again, she wouldn’t have gone all the way to St. Mary’s or been in such a rush if she were going to lie. As far as Carly knew, no one else would see the results, she was only going to give Chloe the news by phone.

Finally, you know how happy Philip was acting after he finished his business with the phone? He was not acting like a man who was on edge, worried about a baby’s paternity. Up until that point, he had been a wreck. Then, he uses the phone, and all of a sudden everything is dandy. I think when he told Chloe that he would help raise the baby, he meant it at the time, but as the time to finding out the results grew nearer, he realized that he didn’t want to lose Melanie. He decided that both couples would be better off if Daniel just raised the baby as his own.

I think Daniel did it. Ken Corday said in fall previews that it would be the person you’d LEAST expect. phil…carly…chloe etc are all obvious chocies and don’t fit in a ‘least expect shocking twist’ category. The only two people that would make a good twist were either dan or mel as they are the two who were cheated on ….so if one of them knew and turned the tables on their cheaters…awesome.
After reading fall previews thought i do not belive its melanie.
Also SC said in two recent interviews that Daniel knows more than people think he does. Make of that what you will.
I don’t belive for one moment that nathan would selfishly and deviously chnage it from being daniels kid to not being his kid just to get melanie back.
First off it would be an epic fail, melanie loves her father and would despise anyone who would deprive him of another child just to make ehr hubby look bad. Second of all nates not that kind of character, he’;d more chnage results to protect melanie and daniel…..meaning he could chnage them from being negative to positive to stop mel and her dad being hurt.
You have to remeber that mate are suppsoed to be rooting couple here, shes su[pposed to go running to his arms…if he is self centred and devious like philip can be then theres no difference in the two of men and mate can’t happen. Nathan has to be the hero here, the good guy.
Plus even if nathan were that devious….for it to even work people would need to KNOW that philip and chloe slept together and that there was a test other wise no one would even question it or find out that dan wasnt the daddy. and from eveything i’ve sene and read…Nathan is keeping the secret and not shouting it out…
So nathan chnaging it to make dan not the father when he really is…is completely inplausible to me and it would also kill any chances mate have. not gonna happen.
If he did anything hed chnage it to make dan the daddy and protect mel and her family.
But i dont think he knows yet that its philip, i think he is just suspicious….and i think he will figure out what steph tried to do and he and melanie will work togetehr and uncover the truth bit by bit…though from what i read in SOD kayla finds out in the end who did the switch lol.

Don’t think its Carly, I feel they are trying to make it look like Carly but its not, she has to reason too. I think it could be Philip OR maybe even someone they didn’t show like Victor. I just want all of this to end…
