I’m more than tired with triangle because they’re not very well written and many caracter(specially women ) are ooc and because one or two triangle is fine but all the couple in triangle or quadriangle …

Mikey M – EJ is more than a bad boy. He has been molded to be that way but has tried to shake it. When he’s apart from Sami is when he truly is bad. BUT there are so many dimensions to his character than just being a bad boy. So, I am drawn to him because he’s multi-dimensional, which separates him from Stefano, Kate, and others who are bad, bad, bad.

One of the hottest combos I saw coming obviously isn’t going to happen, but I’m still holding on to the very end…..EJianna……..EJ and Arianna have adorable chemistry. Days definitely needs to form a concrete love like Bope for the future…..they need a supercouple to carry on.

Sorry I don’t see how EJ and Sami can be a supercouple just because of the fact that everyone forgets he basically raped hre, forcing her to have sex with him in order to save Lucas. I can’t get past that so I’m rooting for Rafe on that one…

Rafe and Nicole, no way..that idea makes me sick because she set up his sister to go to prison for the muggings……

But all the others sound like Great Ideas to me…its just how I see it happening…just not the EJ and Sami and Rafe and Nicole….just not working for me… Just my opinion….

Hmmm.. I can’t find one couple that both agree on…. EJAMI? NO WAY. Sami deserves someone stable and level-headed. She & Rafe had passion. EJ is a snake. He & Nicole should be back together. Carly needs a completely NEW man; it’s time that Chloe settles with ONE. Let it be the good doctor! Melanie & Nathan need to stay put with who’re they’re with & NO problems. Rafe & Nicole? Gag me. Get real. A smart FBI guy with a convicted felon? Not likely. Victor & Viv have some wild chemistry. Love seeing them spat; keep ‘em together for the sparks (of anger). Bo & Hope belong together, yeah, but not before some major come-arounds.

OY!!! I couldn’t disagree more with you on Melanie/Nathan being a good couple. There is absolutely no spark between the two actors. Nathan is as bland as a bowl of soggy shredded wheat. Why on earth would you want a spitfire like Melanie with such a dullard like him….yuck! Melanie belongs with Philip. THEY are adorable together.
And Molly Burnett is a Phelanie fan. So that also seals the deal for me with PHELANIE!!!

I think Stephanie belongs with Ian. He is actually better looking than Nathan. I’m not to sure about Victor and Maggie. Maggie’s true love was Mickey. If Victor and Maggie ended up I believe she would think she is betraying Mickey. As for Sami and EJ…no. I’m still hoping for Sami to end up with Lucas. He is her first and true love. Rafe and Nicole are wrong on so many levels. They should just take Nicole off. What about Chole and Rafe? Just a thought.

I have watched for 29 years. Bope especially in the beginning and Ejami have far and away been the two couples that have grabbed my attention. They make me spend way to much time thinking about the show when i should be doing other things LOL

He wonders how she will handle to newly blossoming friendhip with Philip. She does not know how to handle his relationship with Chloe. And wonders a little about the mysterious G-Man Rafe.

I can only say EJ is a big, big reason I stopped watching in 2006 and 2008. More to the point, it was the interactions between Sami and EJ. I may not like Safe, but if they leave Ejami together it will be more than reason enough to flip the tv off again. Especially with the other lousy storylines going on. Sami annoyed me to no end when she slept with EJ when Lucas went to prison. I was gone within the week after that fiasco. That’s when I lost all respect for Sami. Sorry, just my long, drawn-out way of saying I don’t believe they are, nor will they ever be a “super-couple”. A super-couple by definition has 98% of the audience clamoring for them to be together. They have SO much fan support that any other pairing will cause tremendous uproar and outcry. That’s not the case with Sami and EJ, nor with any other couple on the show now. Even Bo and Hope are teetering on the edge. Because of history Bope will always be a supercouple, but there is no longer 98% support in the audience for them. I’d manage more like 75%.

I want Bo and Hope back together. And I want Shawn & Belle back in town. And I’d love to see them bring back Mimi, Rex, and Bonnie too. I think it’d be hilariously great to see Vivian fighting with Bonnie over Victor. Obviously Bonnie would be in over her head but I’d still laugh my butt off watching those two duke it out over Victor.

I want to end this Daniel and Melanie crap going on with Chloe and Philip. I want a REAL Phloe lovestory like they had back in the day. No more of this, “I love someone else” junk. And if I can’t get that, then I want Chloe and Brady back together. With the new incarnation of Brady they’d easily be the hottest couple on the show, imho.

Hannah, great post I agree 100% about Rafe and Nicole. I have thought they should try pairing them for some time and am excited by what I am seeing this week. They do have chemistry and there is a lot they could do with a SL for them. And when they kissed it was awesome didn’t make we uneasy like when Safe kiss. I do hate that Rafe is using her right now. I guess he is proving that he can be a bigger SOB than Ej like he said but someone on another post mentioned that Nicole is in need of a hero and who better for the job. It would be awesome if she was in danger from Ej, Brady, Ari, or Sami and Rafe was the one to protect her and a relationship came from that. Love the possibilities with these 2.

I just remember him treating her like Rafe treats Sami like she wasn’t good enough or he’d only love her is she behaved herself and I haven’t like them since. I really want Chill! No one seems to like the idea. I really like their scenes together. Plus, it’d be a DiMera-Horton/Brady pairing! Plus, two incredibly cute guys? Who can beat that? Gabby who? Yes, I don’t like EJ and Sami, and I don’t like the way this is going. This jerk set up the kidnapping and now he loves Sami, and we’re supposed to root for him? Not me, thank you. And I’m also not a fan of Rafe and Sami. He’s too condescending and snarky. I was always a fan of Lucas and Sami, even though she did lie to him the whole time they were married multiple times. But they worked!

Nicole deserves someone who loves her back, and I don’t think Brady’s that guy. I seriously think Eric is that guy! Bring back Eric Brady!

Hello? Does anyone remember all the crap Sami has done? She’s no angel and I hate the fact she is pretending to be some kind of moral, and upstanding mother who is trying to do the right thing. Sami doesn’t deserve someone like Rafe. She deserves EJ. I want them to work together to plot and scheme and evade the law. All the things we USED TO love about Sami. I can’t believe how they have been writing her and how they have been writing the Sami and EJ interactions. They used to have such passion and now they are just uncomfortable. They had passion a month ago but now it’s fading fast. If Sami winds up with Rafe she will turn into some boring, holier than thou, copy of DULL HOPE. Sami with EJ keeps Sami spicy and feisty!!!

Ejami – There’s not enough money in the world to make me care about that pairing. The only time I watch scenes with those two is if a big reveal is coming or if there are other people in the scene.

Mate – I liked them at first, But after they split up its like I lost interest for some reason. And after watching today’s episode I definitely don’t want them together because I want better for Melanie and I’m pretty sure even Theo could kick his butt. I’m not interested in Phillip & Melanie either, I don’t feel any chemistry at all between them plus he just looks way too old for her, just like the last two men that Chloe’s dated seem like they could’ve been classmates with her dad. Melanie should just stay single until I move to Salem.

Cardan – I like them as friends but I don’t want to see as anything more. Carly with anyone other than Bo is just going to be a failure in my eyes. I like seeing them in parent mode together when they’re with Melanie but they can be parents and not be a couple.

Rafole – Being a Safe fan last week I would’ve said no to this one. But I have raised a few eyebrows the past couple of days. I’m on the fence with this pairing until I see more.

Bope – For 9 years Bope was my favorite couple, but then the writers gave me a taste of Carbo and now anytime I think about Bope I just want to give them a jacket be I’m sure its cold in Carbo’s shadow.

Vicmag- Now this one I 100% agree. I had never thought about these two as a couple but the moment they had them in the first scene in Maggie’s kitchen a couple months after Mickie died, I was hooked.

And there’s one love triangle that the writers haven’t explored that’s got ratings written all over it. Henderson, Mary, & Harold. Now THAT would be interesting especially since they know all the Dimera & Kiriakis secrets lol.

Hannah, thank you so much for bringing up this topic. I have a major issue with the overuse of triangles. It’s not like they don’t have their place; with the younger couples, who aren’t sure what they want, and to some degree even the more mature couples, too… they certainly do create drama… (after all, this is the soaps.) But, basically, triangles are UNROMANTIC! Romance is two people coming together to beat the odds… Triangles are fickleness, indecision, and betrayal.
Ponder for a moment, fans, if instead of Tom and Alice Horton, we were remembering Tom , Dick, and Harry and Alice Horton-Brady-Kiriakis… not so sentimental, is it?
Please writers, have some mercy on our beloved characters. Give us a couple to believe in again… I have hopes that Ejami could be such a couple, they have amazing chemistry, come from opposite families, and have a history together… many fans have been waiting… myself included… please bring some romance back to Days…

Sorry Safe fans, but Emily’s mysterious death raises more red flags than communist China… I don’t trust him with my Samantha Brady.

Alicia E, I can understand where you’re coming from in not trusting Rafe with Sami because I wouldn’t trust EJ with a goldfish or cactus let alone Sami. But at the same time when it comes to Sami’s relationships 9 times out of 10 I more concerned about the other person because Sami…..well she’s Sami. I love her but she’s not exactly someone I’d get in a relationship with.

Nor, can I explain my allegiance to Sami Brady. It’s probably misguided, but there it is. Sami’s been through a lot in her life. She was kidnapped as a baby, had her mother taken from her, and witnessed the betrayal of her father by Jon and Marlena. True, every soap opera child has had more than their fair share of drama, but I feel the best man for Sami is one that dotes on her; and messed up as he is, that’s E.J. Rafe’s the kind of guy who’ll call you out on your crap; and IMO that’s exactly what Nicole needs. Problem solved!

Jessica, You’re my best friend now! I don’t understand how we’re supposed to feel any sort of sympathy for Sami. I certainly didn’t when Sydney was kidnapped. I was actually rooting for Nicole! And I felt bad for Nicole because she was ABOUT to call Sami and give up Sydney and face discipline when EJ ruined it! And Sami had no sympathy for Nicole. Sami is childish and in a way, I hope she does get with EJ, that way they’ll both be miserable!

Nathan, Jessica, Vicki, Alicia E and Nathan – THANK YOU for being kindred spirits in our sentiments of Sami . Like Alicia E, I can’t explain my allegiance to Sami, either – BUT it is important to note that she is just as guilty in the sin department as EJ. They’ve both done such horrible things. WHY IS IT OKAY that Sami is forgiven, but not EJ? It just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m ready for strong, determined, jaded Sami to return. The way the writers are developing her character, well, let’s say that she is watered-down with BOTH men right now. It’s pathetic. It seems to me that the writers are trying to soften EJ. Therefore, the audience will be torn. I have been waiting for Nicole to get sweet revenge on him, but now he’s showing heart. KatieR, Ken Corday doesn’t like the concept of super-couples. They inhibit his ability to mess with our minds.

Katie R – I agree there is no one else to pair Ej with except Nicole but, been there done that. Since so many of us have waited 4 years for Ejami to finally be a couple I think it’s time it happened. We really don’t know what Ejami would be like if given the chance. A lot of people say they bring out the worst in each other but I think when they aren’t hurting each other they bring out the best and again we really don’t know since they have never actually been a couple. I would like to see Sami go more gray after this all comes out and once they have worked through it to finally come together as a gray couple.

Nathan, I agree with you about Sami and you’re not coming off too strong AT ALL. The way the writers have watered-down Sami’s character of late makes it challenging to know how to root for EJAMI. You’re right – it is a quandary as far as HOW you should root for them. Ultimately, I want them together for a while. I’d like to see them happy for a while instead of the deceit and lying and scheming (on each other that is). I think they bring out the best in each other and the worst in each other. That’s why I root for them – they’re a gray, complex couple.

I know Lucas is not on for now,but I always loved Sami and Lucas,years of history can not be ignored or erased….

LUCASsami, While I agree I’d prefer Lucas to either Rafe or EJ for Sami (although my personal 1st choice will always be Brandon), I don’t agree with the height thing being too much. I wanted Arianna with EJ, and Lindsay’s slightly shorter than Ally at 5’3″. And Lindsay’s hubby Justin is basically the same height as James Scott, at 6’3″. jmho, though.

Head over to NBC and watch the Sami’s Eyeful clip. I knew Rafe would be more bearable if they just paired him with someone he had chemistry with. The more I see the more I hope they explore a Rafe/Nicole relationship.

Frankly most of the other people are filler for me. Only thing that has me watching is EJami and the way these writers are going I will soon have another free hour in my day.

I could watch LUMI, though I would never be as passionate about them as EJami, but Safe makes me turn my TV off. Cannot stand Rafe in any way. Honesty don’t want him with Nicole or anyone else, just want him out of my favorite fictional town.

As far as the ‘rape’, I am sooooo sick about hearing that. It happened, she forgave him and slept with him of her own choice, now she said yes to his proposal and it’s NEVER mentioned on the show. Get over it. It’s a TV show, not real life. Most of the characters should still be hated for things they have done in the past on the show but alot of the past is forgotten, rewritten or totally made null and void for s/l sake.

So I say writers get you heads out of your behinds and realize the gold you have in EJami….

Luvdbi – ITA with you. EJAMI is the gold mine – duh, duh, duh, DOOL. I wish they would capitalize on the natural, organic chemistry between the two. DUH. I think we need to move past the “rape” debacle, too. I do not agree that it was rape, as Sami consented and when Lucas called her out on it and said that part of her wanted to be with EJ she didn’t DENY IT. The writers have claimed it was a mistake and poor writing at the time – they’ve spent 4 years working their way through this situation and the EJAMI storyline has prevailed despite the crappy storyline.

i think ejami is the way to go for sami. ej treats sami like a queen and i feel like the place shes in her life she needs that. when she was going through the grace s/l she needed Rafe. but now she needs her own pleasure and personally i think ej would be great for her because they already have 2 kids together.
- i hope sami doesn’t get mad at ej for the sydapping because she did something equally as bad by not telling ej about grace. he is the sweetest towards sami but she has to give him a chance. if she does that all the pieces will fall into place.

I’m pro Rafole. But I would also be into Nicole with Evil Brady if he’d go for it. But my big Nicole fantasy is Nicole with Marco (Ej’s henchman). They’d be totally compatible and completely devious. Mainly I just want to see Nicole in a pairing that lasts, so she can stick to her other schemes. I’m sick of them writing her as this desperate, lovesick woman. I want to see some of the old spitfire back.

Renae, just went over to see “Sami’s Eyefull” at the nbc website… pretty sassy for sure… still undecided about Rafole… but I also checked out Ali’s blog that was a thank you to Lumi fans…. very sweet… and as an Ejami and Sami fan, I just want to say “thank you” to Alison for being sweet crazy Sami all these years… no matter how nutty she is I will always love her and Ali Sweeney for playing her for us. Thanks Ali!

Dear Ejami Army, calm down. It is obvious that Ejami is going to come back together at some point. Days is obviously leading them into a super couple type scenario, and I’m sure that will pay offt. However, it is a soap opera, if there wasn’t any drama and all couples came together easily, there wouldn’t be anything to watch. I understand that you are ready to see the Ejami thing finally work out, and I’m sure that it will. So until we find out I don’t want Rafe with anyone even if Rafole were to bring Ejami like so meny Ejami fan believe. Besides everyone knows Nicole only kissed Rafe because she was heart broken over Brady.

Jennifer M, I’m sorry you are so sad about Bricole. I know you’ve been rooting for them for a LONG time. I’m bummed too, and only recently got into them. But at the same time, they are so screwed up! I don’t know what to think of them as a couple, at this point. I still care. Ari Zucker is such an amazing actress, that it’s impossible not to care for Nicole. And I think Eric Martsolf is doing justice to Brady as well. I like these people! I’m getting a kick out of drunk Brady because he’s funny and says all kinds of things that sober Brady wouldn’t say. He’s a cute drunk. I know that drinking (especially the way he does it… in the middle of the day and lots) is dangerous for him, but I see him coming out of it and getting even a better handle on things. (or at least I hope)
As for Nicole and Rafe… I was all set to feel danger vibes in their scenes together yesterday and I just didn’t. Either he’s a really good faker, which he may in fact be, or he really is just the rather obsessive, arrogant, but cute, jerk of an FBI agent. Only time will tell.
I totally get why you don’t want to risk it though. I think you have the same, almost maternal feelings towards Nicole that I have for Sami.

I love the RAFOLE vibe – love their chemistry and I’m ready for more. I never would have put them together, but I really enjoyed their scenes. They are two rejected, gray souls, just like EJAMI. I think that’s why I like the quadrangle that could emerge. I think it will be entertaining to watch for a while. I think it could be the makings of a new feud in town: HERNANDEZ vs. BRADY-DIMERA.

Alicia E I know Brady and Nicole are screwed up but thats how it is for most great couples. I just feel Brady gets Nicole and she in turns gets him. I could just see it in his face if she just told him the truth he would have forgiven her but sadly she was scared. While bad boy drunk Brady is fun to watch I still feel hope for Bricole. I really don’t like how Rafe is using her. You might be right about maternal feelings but I think I’m more upset with the writers placing yet again another one of Sami guys with Nicole. I’m sure I’ll get over it. I took a break from daystalk to mend my broken heart. I’m sure I’ll be worse when Ejami break up happens. Ahh such as the roller coaster of a soap fan. When I’m up I’m high when I’m down I’m real low.

Jennifer M, I get it. That’s how it is when you care. It’s awesome and it sucks! For me, I think I yap on here all the more when I’m either very distraught or very happy, and just so you know, when you’re gone, you’re missed.

I don’t care who Sami is with, Ejami or Safe. I can’t get into Sami being the’ A’ romantic storyline for Dool.

Nathan and Melanie were cute last year when they were living at Maggies, but they married her off to Phil and they dropped their interaction for months and months. I guess they are going back to it by putting them in a clinic together. Can they get their mojo back? Mel’s married, & Nathan just moved in with Stephanie. Still finding it hard to root for them.

The only couple I’m enjoying the writing for is Victor and Maggie! They have chemistry and they are taking it slow but steady building their friendship in an organic way. Victor setting up something in Micky’s name so they meet over that. Then using something they have in common, family trouble (Bo, Hope, Brady) to have then work together and listen to each others advise. Plus the hilarious Vivian/Maggie ‘catfights’ over Victor-LOL!

Ok, so I don’t mind the idea of EJ and Sami as a couple, but I do not like what he did to reel her in. What I mean by this is that he had to pretty much manipulate her into even consider getting together with him by kidnapping Sidney and then rescuing her himself to make him look like the hero. That being said, they do make a genius couple.

I love the idea of Melanie and Nathan back together again. They make such a great couple because they seem to have an understanding for each other.

Although Carly and Daniel together are kind of growing on me, I must admit that I still absolutely love Daniel and Chloe so much more. I just think that Chloe needs to tell him the truth and hopefully he’ll forgive her.

Rafe and Nicole together is seriously quite humorous. Before, they absolutely hated each other, and nobody even thought that it could be possible for them to get together. Now, though, that it’s actually happened, the show has become more interesting. Brilliant idea!

And finally, my all time favorite couple, Bo and Hope. Ever since I started watching the show, I’ve adored them together and can’t wait until they find their way back to each other. Carly is a super great character, but just not with Bo.

Oh, and yes, Stephanie and Ian would be perfect together. They seem to be a match made in heaven (or hell, take your pick). Both very scheming and manipulative. Brilliant.

for one, its not Cardan is Darly (even though I vote for Danly) and two, they have NO CHEMISTRY! Ok so CC can have Chemistry with a lamp post BUT, i see nothing with Carly and Daniel. Also, BOPE NEED TO FINALLY BREAK APART! Im tired of the breaking up going back breaking up going back… its nauseating! Also they have no Chemistry or passion or even love between them…. its just an image that was created, nothing is real and they need to finally divorce! Bo and Carly are the best together, and Hope needs to leave town! Im not a fan of Daniel either.. i dont care what happens to him. But CARBO Forever and MATE too! all IMO of course

Bo and hope should not get back together they boring we need and want Carbo and yes I Am sick of triangles so they should just kick hope out of this one:)

When done right triangles can be great – I mean this is a soap opera and drama is what it is all about. That being said, Days has too many poorly written triangles – they switch couples up so often you don’t have time to get invested in one. The one tiangle I did think could be fantastic was the Bo/Carly/Hope triangle – but they even managed to screw that up. I don’t want to see Bo & Hope together – I don’t care how long they have been a couple. As I watched I saw how Hope treats Bo and how toxic their relationsip has become. I want to see Bo and Carly – a couple who loves and supports each other and treats each other like an equal. Bo is truly happy with Carly – it is written all over his face. Not to mention when comparing couples PR & CC’s chemistry blows any pairing out of the water.

Great post Hannah! I really enjoy reading your commentary. I am tired of the triangles as well. One I wouldn’t mind seeing is EJ/Nicole/Rafe.

@Sue I agree. I can’t get into Sami storylines anymore. She can’t make up her mind of who she wants.
