The end of an era. Thaao Penghlis started on Days in the early 1980′s as the villainous Tony Dimera. He left in 2005 and was brought back May 2007. Not even two years later his character is killed off.
Heck. They didn’t even give Anna the decency to make it back to the hospital in time to be by Tony’s side when he passed. Why did we never see Anna in the mansion with Tony. True stars get killed off a soap. Sorry Anna — you were not worthy of being written off.
For the most part I found Tony’s storyline to be kind of boring. He was too nice. Always getting pushed around by the other family members — especially Anna. She forced him to marry her (and that’s wrong). I mean he’s on that island hanging out with some hotties half his age, enjoying zero responsibility, and here comes chunky Anna in her high heels complaining about everything. Not my idea of the perfect rescue. Him and Kate would have made a better couple.
So long Tony. And thank you for setting up one of the greatest wars ever — DiMera vs Kiriakis.
